Three Things To Do Immediately After Receiving Your Photos

Woohoo, the day is here! Your gallery has arrived in your email *does a lil’ happy dance* and you get to obsess over all the amazing moments from your session.

Let me guess: the first thing you wanna do is post those babies all over social media. Um, YES - please do! But it doesn’t end here. As your photographer, it’s my job to make sure you get the most out of your experience, even after the social media hype dies down. There are a few super important things you should do with your photos immediately after downloading them, and I’m here with you every step of the way!

Back them up. Then back them up again.

Storage is cheap. You know what isn’t? Losing all of your memories because a hard drive went corrupt or got misplaced in your household shipment. The scary reality is, it happens! But I’m not here to scare you about everything bad that *might* happen to your photos. Let’s think proactively and back those babies up in not one, but at least TWO different places. If you can find three or four places to back them up, even better! It’s a small effort with a big reward: your peace of mind. Cloud storage is the most convenient because you won’t have to physically carry it around with you. If you choose to go the solid storage route, buy new storage dedicated for your family photos each year and try not to overuse the drive. They’re like cars: put a lot of miles on them and they start to have mechanical issues. Ain’t nobody got time for that!

Print them.

Digital storage is great, and it’s definitely an important part of backing up your photos. But, it’s not a permanent home for your memories. Print is the safest and most reliable place for your photos, and this is the very reason I deliver a print release with your session. I believe in the impact and legacy of a printed photograph. It’s how your history will be remembered decades from now, when your grandchildren flip through dusty photographs of your growing family in Germany circa 2020. There is no wrong way to print your photographs and there is no better time to start than right now. If you’re not sure how or where to print, I’ve got you covered fam!

Send your photographer some love!

I get it - you’re SO excited when you see your photos that responding back slips your mind! Lifestyle photography is all about creating personal art - and I don’t want our relationship to end the moment I press “send” on your gallery. We photographers pour our hearts and soul into every session, and sometimes we get nervous when we don’t hear back (yes, seriously!). Feedback is how we know we rocked your world. When you get your images, take a couple minutes and share your thoughts with me! Something extra special you can do is to write a meaningful review. Word of mouth referrals are how I find other amazing clients like you! And seriously y’all, hearing about what you loved about your experience just fills my heart right up!

Wanna share your thoughts right now?! GO FOR IT! Drop a review here!
